6 Minutes Homemade Pizza Base Recipe
Pizzas are an all-time favorite, but if we want to make one at home, the first thing that comes to mind is going to the nearest store and purchasing the pizza bases, but believe me, with a little work, we can make them at home as well.
- 500 grams Refined flour
- ½ tsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Dry yeast
- 30 ml. Oil
- 150 ml. Warm water
A pizza base is nothing more than a flatbread that is needed to make pizzas, but the most important ingredient is yeast, which comes in two- three forms. I am using dry granulated yeast, which you can also buy fresh at any grocery store.
Step 1. Put this yeast into another bowl, and add sugar and warm water, keep in mind the water should not be too hot. Now stir this up, and then set it aside for a minute or so.
Step 2. After some minutes you’ll see the yeast has eaten up most of the sugar, now give it another stir. The sign to know that the yeast is ready is that the mixture will become nice and frothy.
Step 3. Now keep the yeast mixture aside for a few seconds and in that time add some salt to your refined flour.
Step 4. Create a hole/well in center of the refined flour and pour the yeast mixture in that hole/well. Then add some oil and begin mixing everything together with some warm water. The water must not be too cold, or the yeast’s growth will be interrupted. Splash the water little by little do not add in all the water at the same time because you may just end up making a loose dough.
Step 5. Once all of these ingredients have come together, transfer this on a working table.
Step 6. Now the dough needs to be stretched and pulled back and converted into a pliable soft dough. The dough may seem to be sticky at this point, but all it needs is a little bit of pressure and kneading and this could take between 12 to 15 minutes the best way to knead the dough is to push it with the heel of your palm and to bring it back with your fingers. The moment it stops sticking to your hand it means of soft and pliable dough is ready time to bring it together like a ball.
Step 7. Transfer it in the earlier bowl but this time with a little bit of oil so that the dough doesn’t stick to the bowl.
Step 8. Now cover the bowl with a damp muslin cloth so that the dough doesn’t dry from the top Now the keep the covered bowl in a warm place for 40-45 minutes.
Step 9. After 45 minutes, bring the bowl and take out the dough on your working table and divide the dough into three smaller doughs.
Step 10. Take one of the doughs and cover the rest with the same muslin cloth, Put some flour on your working table and roll the dough into the dimension of your choice.
Step 11. After this, dust your baking tray with flour and put the base on the tray and with the help of a fork, prick the top of the dough and bake it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Your Pizza base is ready, follow the same process for the rest of your doughs.
How to keep the base fresh?
